DOTSEVEN is a very ambitious 3.5 year R&D project targeting the development of silicon germanium (SiGe) heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technologies with cut-off frequencies (fmax) up to 700 GHz. The consortium consists of 14 partners from industry and academia in 6 European countries. http://www.dotseven.eu/

SMACH Device Modeling Software

SMACH screen shot

SMACH is a parameter extraction software implemented into Agilent's IC-CAP platform. It's a multi-model/multi-purpose platform dedicated to the realization of accurate silicon and III-V based compact models. SMACH has been designed to be a generic platform for virtually any compact models.

Some of the most advanced functionalities of SMACH have been historically aimed to bipolar SiGe scalable models, however SMACH is a powerfull tool for parameter extraction of silicon BJTs,HBTs ,III-V components, MOS transistors, HEMTs, inductors, varactors and more.

Due to it's flexibility, any compact model can be linked to SMACH within minutes (HiCuM, VBIC, BSIM3, PSP, Angelov, lumped elements models, etc.). SMACH is able to efficiently manage resources for baseband analog as well as high frequency models, while providing improved productivity to the modelling engineers.

Moreover, SMACH is highly modular due to the use of the PlugIn concept, which allows efficient maintenance and a high level of customizability by the end user.

SMACH plays the role of the highly flexible parameter extraction tool.
